Hello and welcome back to You Wrote The Book, a book based podcast hosted by Simon Savidge. Each fortnight over the coming months he will be joined by a special guest author to discuss their life as a writer and as a reader, from the current novel they have published to the first book they read and everything in between.
This fortnight we bring you a special Young Adult edition of You Wrote The Book as Simon’s little sister Miriam interviews author James Dawson. James is the author of novels Hollow Pike, Cruel Summer and just recently published scare fest Say Her Name, a modern twist on the urban legend of Bloody Mary. He is also the author of the non-fiction titles for teens and upwards Being A Boy and the forthcoming This Book is Gay. Miriam grilled him about his books, where their inspiration comes from, why he likes to scare his readers and how he does this with prose, currently YA fiction, what he liked to read as a teenager and much more.
Over the next few episodes I will be joined by Kate Forsyth, Rebecca Makkai and Kirsty Wark. If you have any questions for them, would like to suggest authors you think Simon should be getting on the show, or simply want to have a natter about books, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org or find us on twitter @youwrotethebook.
If you want to hear Simon talking more books do join him every other week with Thomas Otto on The Readers Podcast, you can also find him chatting and reviewing book on his blog Savidge Reads.
